Saltine Toffee

Ingredients

  • 40 salted saltine crackers or enough to line your pan
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and line fully with saltine crackers
  3. In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat melt butter and brown sugar together and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes
  4. Remove from heat and pour caramel mixture over cracker layer. Spread with wooden spoon to cover them evenly
  5. Bake in pre-heated oven for 4 minutes until just bubbly
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle immediately with chocolate chips
  7. When chocolate chips begin to melt spread evenly over crackers with soft spatula
  8. Place baking sheet in fridge until firm, about 2 hours
  9. Break into pieces with hands before eating
