Saltine Toffee
Ingredients
- 40 salted saltine crackers or enough to line your pan
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and line fully with saltine crackers
- In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat melt butter and brown sugar together and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes
- Remove from heat and pour caramel mixture over cracker layer. Spread with wooden spoon to cover them evenly
- Bake in pre-heated oven for 4 minutes until just bubbly
- Remove from oven and sprinkle immediately with chocolate chips
- When chocolate chips begin to melt spread evenly over crackers with soft spatula
- Place baking sheet in fridge until firm, about 2 hours
- Break into pieces with hands before eating
